24 Palestinians killed, 71 injured in Gaza & 14 people killed, 73 injured in Lebanon by Israeli forces

GAZA

At least 24 more Palestinians were killed in Israeli indiscriminate attacks in the Gaza Strip, bringing the overall death toll since last year to 44,235, the Health Ministry in the enclave said on Monday.

A ministry statement added that some 104,638 others were injured in the ongoing assault.

“Israeli forces killed 24 people and injured 71 others in two massacres of families in the last 24 hours,” the ministry said.

“Many people are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.

Seven civilians were killed and dozens were injured on Monday, as a result of the Israeli army’s bombing of different areas in the Gaza Strip.

Medical sources reported that five people were killed and several others were injured in Israeli airstrikes targeting of a gathering of Paless in the Jabalia al-Nazla area, north of the Strip.

Two civilians were also killed and others were injured in an Israeli bombing of a group of Palestinians in front of the Indonesian Hospital gate, north of the Strip.

A number of Palestinians were killed and others were injured on Monday after the Israeli forces bombed a house in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

Medical sources in the Strip reported that four people were killed and several others were injured in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Musbah area, north of Rafah.

Medics from the Red Crescent also said that five wounded people were transferred to Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip after Israeli artillery shelling of citizens’ homes north of the camp.

The Israel’s artillery also bombed displaced people in the al-Manshiya neighborhood and the vicinity of shelters in the town of Beit Lahia, north of the Strip, and the Tal al-Zaatar area in the Jabalia camp, north of the Strip.

An Israeli airstrike on Monday evening killed at least four Palestinians and injured several others in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood of northern Gaza City, sources reported.

A medical source, who preferred to remain anonymous, told Anadolu that the airstrike targeted a home belonging to the Harb family.

Several injured individuals were pulled from the rubble, though the exact number of casualties remains unclear, witnesses reported to Anadolu.

LEBANON

At least 14 more people were killed in Israeli attacks across Lebanon on Sunday, bringing the overall death toll since October last year to 3,768, the Lebanese Health Ministry said on Monday.

In a statement, the ministry added that 73 others were wounded, raising the total number of injuries to 15,699 since October 2023.

An Israeli strike has hit a house in Bazouriye, a town near the coastal city of Tyre, killing at least two people, Lebanon’s National News Agency reports.

At least one other person has been wounded, it said, adding that rescue efforts are still under way.

At least 11 people were killed and four others injured in a series of Israeli airstrikes in southern and eastern Lebanon on Monday, the Health Ministry said.

A ministry statement said eight people lost their lives in a strike targeting the southern town of Maarakeh.

Four other people were injured, including one seriously, in the attack.

Another airstrike targeting a building in Ghaziyeh in southern Lebanon left two more people dead, the state news agency NNA reported.

The broadcaster said that efforts were underway to search for survivors under the rubble of the destroyed building.

Another person was killed when fighter jets conducted another strike in Baalbek-Hermel province in eastern Lebanon, NNA said.

Israeli warplanes also renewed airstrikes on the southern suburb of Beirut, but no information was yet available about casualties.

Israeli warplanes carried out three airstrikes on southern suburbs of Beirut on Monday shortly after issuing orders for immediate evacuation.

Lebanon’s state National News Agency said the attacks targeted the neighborhoods of Haret Hreik and Bir al-Abed, both south of Beirut.

No information was yet available about injuries or damage.

The airstrikes took place shortly after the Israeli army issued immediate evacuation orders for residents in three buildings in Haret Hreik ahead of the attacks.

Army spokesman Avichay Adraee posted a map of the targeted buildings on his X account, claiming the presence of Hezbollah assets and facilities in the area

Meanwhile, Hezbollah fired 340 missiles and drones at Israel, according to Israeli Army Radio, wounding 11 people and causing “severe damage” in Tel Aviv, as Israel continues to bomb Beirut.

SYRIA

Israeli airstrikes targeted three bridges and a border crossing in the Al Qusayr area of Homs province, near the Lebanese border, Syrian state news agency SANA reported on Monday.

“Israeli aggression occurred around 9.00 p.m. (1800GMT) and targeted key crossing points previously hit on the Syrian-Lebanese border,” the agency cited an unnamed military source as saying.

The military official added that the Israeli aggression “resulted in two civilian injuries and material damages.”

SANA’s correspondent in the region reported that the al-Jobania, Arjoun, and al-Daf bridges, as well as the al-Nazariya border gate, were damaged in the Israeli attack.
