(AA, Al Jazeera, Wafa, NNA): The death toll from Israel’s indiscriminate airstrikes in Lebanon has reached 2,986 since last October, the Lebanese Health Ministry said Sunday.

A statement reported that 13,402 people have been wounded since hostilities began last October.since the war on Gaza began, the Lebanese Health Ministry says.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces killed 35 Palestinians, injured 86 in Gaza Strip, according to Gaza Health Ministry.

LEBANON

Israeli airstrikes on southern and eastern Lebanon left 18 dead Saturday and injured 83 others, according to the ministry.

At least five people were killed and nine others injured in Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon on Sunday, the Health Ministry said.

Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes in Haret Sidon, killing three people and injuring nine others, the ministry said in a statement.

Two more people lost their lives in another strike in the town of Jbal El Botm in southern Lebanon, the state news agency NNA reported.

The Israeli army claimed Sunday to have killed two senior Hezbollah commanders in an airstrike in southern Lebanon.

A military statement said Israeli warplanes killed Farouq Amin al-Ashi and Yusuf Ahmad Nun in the border town of Khiam.

The army accused Ashi and Nun of being responsible for numerous rocket attacks on northern Israel.

There was no comment from Hezbollah on the Israeli claim.

The Israeli army said Sunday that it detected the launch of 27 rockets by Hezbollah from Lebanon into northern Israel.

A military statement said two rockets were fired into Karmiel and Menashe near Haifa, causing sirens to sound in the two areas.

The army said 15 more rockets were also launched towards the Galilee region, with some of the projectiles intercepted while others landed in open areas without causing damage.

The army said 10 more rockets were fired into Haifa Bay, triggering sirens there.

Hezbollah confirmed that its fighters had targeted with rockets Israeli troop deployments in five settlements in northern Israel.

GAZA

Medical sources say Israeli attacks on Gaza have killed at least 35 people, including 17 in the north, and injured 86 others since dawn bringing the overall death toll since last year to 43,341, the Health Ministry in the enclave said on Sunday.

A ministry statement added that some 102,105 others were injured in the ongoing assault.

At least nine Palestinians were killed and several others injured in a series of Israeli airstrikes on Sunday in the Gaza Strip, according to medical sources and local media.

Israeli fighter jets struck a house in the northern city of Beit Lahia, leaving five people dead, a medical source told Anadolu.

Eight Palestinians, including four children, were killed in an Israeli drone strike on Sunday in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, according to a medical source.

The fatalities occurred when a drone hit a gathering of civilians in Sheikh Nasser neighborhood in the city, the source said.

Hussam Abu Safia, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, says Israeli forces bombed the children’s floor, the nursery department, and the water tanks in the health facility.

Moreover, Abu Safia said the hospital was subjected to heavy Israeli shelling during a visit by a delegation from the World Health Organization.

Earlier this week, a new United Nations report said Israel has “perpetrated a concerted policy to destroy Gaza’s healthcare system” that has included “deliberate attacks on medical personnel and facilities”, both of which are war crimes.

WEST BANK

A Palestinian child from the town of Halhul, north of Hebron, was killed on Sunday evening after the Israeli occupation forces opened fire at him.

Security sources said that the Israeli forces opened fire at Naji Nidal Al-Baba, 14, while he was in the Ramouz area near the northern entrance to the town of Halhul.

The Red Crescent Society said that its crews in the city of Hebron received Al-Baba.
