London, (The Muslim News): Two Palestinians were killed in Gaza on Sunday after an Israeli army drone reportedly struck civilians in the Shujaiya neighbourhood of Gaza City, medical sources told Anadolu Agency. Witnesses said the attack targeted areas from which Israeli forces had previously withdrawn, leaving army-controlled zones, the so-called “yellow zone”, untouched.

Local sources reported heavy shelling from Israeli helicopters in eastern Gaza City from early Sunday, while military vehicles stationed in army-controlled areas fired towards the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, eastern Khan Younis, and northern Rafah.

According to the Gaza Government Media Office, the Israeli army has committed 738 ceasefire violations since the agreement came into effect on October 10. At least 401 Palestinians have been killed and 1,108 injured during this period, raising the overall death toll from the Israeli war to more than 70,900, with nearly 171,200 injured.

Israeli soldiers and Jewish settlers continue attacks on Palestinians in West Bank

Meanwhile, violence continued in the occupied West Bank. On Saturday evening, a 16-year-old boy and a 22-year-old man were killed by Israeli forces in separate incidents near Jenin, the Health Ministry said. The teenager, from Qabatiya, was reportedly shot while walking, and Israeli forces withheld his body. The other victim, from Silah al-Harithiya, was killed during a raid in the town.

Additional clashes left two Palestinians injured near the Nur Shams refugee camp and the town of Al-Ram.

Since October 2023, Israeli forces and illegal Jewish settlers have killed at least 1,102 Palestinians, injured nearly 11,000, and detained around 21,000, according to Palestinian figures.

Settler violence also intensified. On Sunday evening, three Palestinians were beaten and hospitalised by illegal Israeli settlers in Beit Lid, near Tulkarem, after intervening in an attack on Palestinian property between the villages of Kafr Qaddum and Beit Lid.

November saw 621 settler attacks against Palestinians and their property in the West Bank, according to the Colonisation and Wall Resistance Commission.

In Gaza, six Palestinian detainees released from Israeli custody arrived at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah for medical treatment, transferred through the International Committee of the Red Cross.

Separately, the Interior Ministry reported that at least 18 civilians have died from collapsing buildings damaged in Israeli attacks since the ceasefire, with four killed on Saturday in Sheikh Radwan. Poor weather and ongoing restrictions on reconstruction have exacerbated the risk.

Israeli army kills one person in Lebanon

Tensions also spilled into southern Lebanon. Israeli airstrikes on Sunday killed one person and injured two in Yater, Bint Jbeil, striking a car and a motorcycle, despite ceasefire agreement. Israel claimed the targets were Hezbollah operatives, though the group has not commented.

Last week, Israeli media reported that the army had prepared for a possible large-scale attack on Hezbollah if the Lebanese government fails to dismantle the group’s weapons by the end of 2025.

The Lebanese army also dismantled an Israeli surveillance device in Yaroun, warning residents to report suspicious objects amid ongoing Israeli activity despite the November 2024 ceasefire, under which Israel partially withdrew from southern Lebanon.

The persistent breaches across Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon underscore the fragility of regional ceasefires and the human cost of ongoing conflict.
