London, (The Muslim News): At least three Palestinians, including two children, were killed and several others wounded on Saturday in a series of Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip, despite a ceasefire that was supposed to halt the fighting.

Medical sources told Anadolu Agency that two teenage boys from the Al-Zawara family, Salman Zakaria, 14, and Mohammed Youssef, 15, were killed when an Israeli bomb exploded near Kamal Adwan Hospital in the Beit Lahia project area in northern Gaza. Witnesses said an Israeli drone dropped the bomb in an area from which Israeli forces had already withdrawn under the ceasefire agreement.

In a separate incident in northern Gaza, several Palestinians were injured in an Israeli strike on Old Gaza Street in Jabalia, according to ambulance and emergency services. Another man was wounded by Israeli gunfire in the Al-Salateen area of Beit Lahia, while a further strike killed a Palestinian in the Qizan al-Najjar area south of Khan Younis.

Additional injuries were reported in central Khan Younis, where witnesses said Israeli gunfire struck a man in the head near the Jasser Building intersection. An Israeli quadcopter drone was seen opening fire in the city centre.

The latest incidents add to an already devastating toll. Medical authorities in Gaza say at least 71,654 Palestinians have been killed and more than 171,391 wounded since the Israeli offensive began on October 7, 2023, with women and children making up the majority of the dead.

Since the ceasefire came into effect in mid-October, a further 481 Palestinians have been killed and 1,313 injured, while at least 713 bodies have been recovered from beneath the rubble.

Conditions on the ground continue to worsen.

On Saturday, the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza said the number of infants and children who have died from cold-related causes since the start of the winter season had risen to 10. The ministry said three-month-old Ali Abu Zour died from severe cold at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, highlighting the impact of fuel shortages, mass displacement and the continued failure to allow adequate humanitarian aid into the enclave.

The ministry accused Israel of failing to meet its obligations under the ceasefire, including opening border crossings and allowing agreed quantities of food, medical supplies and shelter materials to enter Gaza.

Violence against Palestinians intensifies by illegal Jewish settlers in West Bank

Violence has also escalated in the occupied West Bank. On Saturday evening, a Palestinian worker was shot by Israeli forces near the Qalandia military checkpoint north of Jerusalem after crossing the separation wall near the town of Al-Ram, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society. He was hit by a live bullet below the knee and taken to hospital.

Further south, several Palestinians were injured in attacks by illegal Jewish settlers while working on their land and tending livestock in the Hebron governorate. WAFA reported assaults in Khallet al-Natsh east of Hebron, Wadi Sa’ir to the northeast, and Marah Abu Asida near Beit Ula.

In Khallet al-Natsh, one man was taken to hospital after being struck in the head by a stone. Beit Ula Mayor Atiyah al-Adam said illegal Jewish settlers, operating under the protection of Israeli soldiers, attacked residents in Marah Abu Asida, prompting Israeli forces to fire tear gas when Palestinians confronted them, causing multiple cases of suffocation.

Palestinian officials and human rights groups say violence by settlers in the occupied West Bank has intensified in recent years, with farmers, shepherds and rural communities increasingly targeted, particularly in areas close to Israeli settlements and the separation wall.
