drown
In dark almond pools
Pure, limpid allure,
Drawn, dazed
By the liquid beauty of her gaze
Until she lowers
Her heavy lids
And beauty’s elusive glimpse
Fades
I’m enthralled
By the orange and gold
Of fiery embers, luminous splendour,
Dipping into a dusky sea,
Sinking inevitably
Into obscurity
I distill
Sublime artistry
In a rose’s exquisite beauty,
And yet her fragrant blush,
Crimson flush,
Wilts,
Shrivels
Into dust
Beauty in nature
Glows and glimmers,
Only to fade and disappear…
Yet,
How its glimpse evokes and stirs!
A deep longing,
Urgent and compelling,
To see, seek, cling
To Real, Eternal Beauty
From whence all beauty springs
