Unaware, unknowing, he walks
through Life’s mazes
Tripping here, running there
At times falling with a thud That threatens
The very essence of Being
Yet he continues, eyes closed, heart unstirred
Counting his money daily
Accumulating all that glitters
Gaging for happiness down the way
The Most Majestic sets His Gaze on him
Akin to every feeling he feels
He, in His Kindness and all-encompassing Love
Beckons him, again and yet again
Just turn to Me, believe in Me
And I’ll turn the thorns into roses
I’ll recompense you more than your heart’s desire
And set you free from that
Heaviness you struggle to flee.
A sharp yearning possessed him
Unsettled and unsure
Where Life’s events were leading him
The heaviness sank in
As his soul gasped for breath
And for the love of His Lord
Work no longer shed a light
Friends, once sought, now repelled
Different goals, distant worlds
The question dawned which before evaded him
Where am I going?
For what purpose…After death comes?
More like these grasped his mind
Which put his life on hold.
Dared he believe what others scorned
The presence of that Divine Creator
Whose very proof was the world’s existence
Without Whom Life served no purpose
Was meaningless and hollow?
That this reality was not the true realm
But a testing-ground of moral rectitude
The deciding factor of the eternal destination
It was the toughest decision
His way of life at stake
But in the end he won.
His soul broke free and clutched the reign
And bowed in submission to His Lord.
Still there were trials and tribulations
But he was no longer alone.
