Sir, I agree with you that the UK should be made accountable for its role in the Yemen War. (‘UK must be accountable for role in Yemen war’ The Muslim News 26 April)
Thousands of civilians have died unnecessarily in Yemen by Saudi-led bombings. Because of the siege by the coalition, food and medicine were prevented from reaching the people, which then led to more deaths.
The UK with other western countries are in Saudi Arabia command centre and are intimately involved in the bombing strategy as the Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir confirms: “They know what the target list is and they have a sense of what it is that we are doing.”
If there is no accountability then more innocent lives will be lost not only in Yemen but elsewhere too.
