RAMALLAH, (AA): A Palestinian man died Wednesday evening from wounds sustained after being run over by an Israeli settler the day before, according to Palestinian police.
“Mohammed Dawoud, 60, has passed away in Nablus Specialist Hospital in the city of Nablus as he succumbed to his wounds from Tuesday,” said police spokesman Louay Zreiqat.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement released Tuesday that Dawoud and his wife were injured after being run over by an Israeli settler at the eastern entrance of the city of Qalqilya, in the northern West Bank.
There have been many Palestinians were killed after being struck by speeding Israeli settlers’ cars in the occupied West Bank, also leading to dozens of injuries, while the settlers usually continue driving to their destinations before the army or the police even reach the scene.
According to Palestinian figures, more than 240 Palestinians have been killed since an uptick in Israeli-Palestinian violence began in October of 2015.
Israel, for its part, says 42 Israelis were killed by Palestinians over the same period.
