MOGADISHU, (AA): Several people were killed in a car bomb attack Tuesday on a military camp of Djiboutian forces in Somalia, official sources told Anadolu Agency.
The attack occurred near the town of Beledweyne, capital of the Hiran province in Central Somalia.
Mohamed Amin, the province’s head of political and security affairs, told Anadolu Agency that a suicide car bomber blew himself up near the fence surrounding the military camp.
He said the explosion caused several casualties, but gave no specific figures.
Djiboutian troops are part of the African Union Mission to Somalia (AMISOM) which supports the government’s fight against the al-Shabaab militant group.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but the Somali militant group has claimed similar attacks in the past.
