Each year, an independent panel of judges with no connection to the newspaper, shortlist and then select winners in a range of award categories, from media to sports, community development to education.

The Awards’ Dinner

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner in central London on 31 March. Established as an annual event in 2000, The Muslim News Awards for Excellence has now become a major fixture in the British Muslim calendar. Previous guests of honour have included HRH The Prince of Wales and numerous senior members of the Government including Prime Minister Tony Blair, Chancellor Gordon Brown.

The Judging Panel

The Muslim News Awards for Excellence is the oldest of its kind in Britain. Unlike several imitations that have come and gone, The Muslim News Awards for Excellence is unique and special because of the dedication of an independent of judges who have no connection to the newspaper or its staff. Each year, a diverse panel from all walks of life come together to shortlist and select winners from a list of nominees, recommended by the many thousands of readers of The Muslim News.
