    Sir, I am so happy that The Muslim News Awards for Excellence event is back in full swing. I went through the people who are shortlisted.

  • Using photos of pig permissible

    Sir, This is a response to Shuja Qureshi’s comment [Letters, Issue 285 - urging The Muslim News not to use image of pigs in its coverage]. Pigs are mentioned in the Qur’an so why is it offensive to see a picture of one?

    Sir, So we are now going to yet another Muslim country for a military adventure. The excuse that you rightly have argued given by Prime Minster, David Cameron, that we are in Mali to stop terrorism in Britain has no basis.

    Sir, It is shocking. British, American and Danish intelligence agencies jointly using undercover agents to infiltrate mosques and indoctrinating young Muslims with extremist ideas. Even though you have published one example, I am quite sure there are many such agent provocateurs around the country targeting vulnerable young Muslims.

The Muslim News Awards for Excellence event is to acknowledge British Muslim and non-Muslim contributions to society. Over 850 people from diverse background, Muslim and non-Muslim, attended the gala dinner.
