Uyghur Muslim plight neglected

30th Nov 2018

Sir, Muslims in Xinjiang, China, have been suffering for many years, still not much has been done to alleviate their suffering. Your newspaper has been unique in that it has been publishing about their plight regularly, including the story that the UN has now woken up and asked China to release over a million Muslims incarcerated in the so-called re-education camps. (‘China’s treatment of Muslims draws United Nations’ attention. The Muslim News. October 26).

However, all the West and the UN is doing is talk and talk but does not walk. There is no will to do anything, especially because they are Muslim.

We have the same situation in Palestine, where the West is paying only lip service to the suffering of the Palestinian people. On the contrary, the West is arming Israel to the teeth with the most sophisticated arms to continue oppressing the Palestinian people and occupying their lands since 1967.

Unfortunately it is so. What makes me aghast is none of the so many muslim countries is doing anything for them.
