Sunni Shia relation in Saudi Arabia

24th Dec 2014

Sir, It was good to see the Saudi minister consoling a Shia Muslim child, whose parent was killed in the terrorist attack at the mosque.
Unfortunately, sectarianism has become very common in Muslim countries, especially in Saudi Arabia. So for the Interior Minister to make such a gesture was welcome.
Saudi Authorities must ensure there is no sectarian discrimination against the minority Shia Muslims. They are indigenous and have equal rights that are the same as the Sunni Muslims.
The attacks against Shia Muslim religious centres should stop and security should be provided to protect them.
It was also good that the Mufti condemned the killing of the Shia Muslim worshippers.
Yours,
Mohammed Khan
