Nadiya breaking stereotypes

27th Nov 2015

Sir, Lovely to see your conversation with the queen of baking, Nadiya Hussain highlighting her excellent talent. It is all the more important that we see on mainstream TV Muslims are as “normal” as any other British citizen, not like what the media and politicians portray – as potential extremists and terrorists. As she rightly said she wants to be judged on her ability just as all Muslims should be. But it was good that she is hijabi as it breaks all stereotypes of Muslim women.
Yours,
Jamila Ahmed
