Sir, Like many British citizens and especially as Muslim I am quite disenchanted with the political sphere and have never voted. Cameron’s crusade of propagating negative views towards Islam might just cause me to review my position. However, Cameron’s rhetoric should come as no surprise, his bigotry is obvious.
The term ‘Islamist extremism’ is such a prosperous term since it contradicts everything about Islam in going the middle road.
Middle of the road of course does not mean compromising, for indeed they will never accept us until we abandon our religion. My concern is that for the majority of British people, many of whom are not astute, will assume that all Islamic organizations are a place of enforcing ‘terrorism’. They will see a person like me, who wants to practice the religion and apply the Sunnah as best as possible, to be extreme.
Incidentally, are there no ‘Muslim’ politicians, should they not be the ones to denounce this type of narrative?
I pray for Allah’s Mercy and Blessing upon the Ummah. Ameen.
