Sir, Suffering of Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar is so sad. I didn’t realise that the Myanmar Government was involved in genocide against them. (The Muslim News No 314)
Why is the world so silent on this issue? Our Government, it seems, talks a lot about human rights and claims it has been telling Myanmar Government to respect minorities but Prime Minister Cameron carries on trading with them as if everything is fine in that country. We are not even imposing sanctions against them. I suppose for our Government making money is more important than the lives of Muslims.
And what about the Nobel Peace Prize winner, Aung San Suu Kyi, who has been praised by Cameron as a beacon of human rights. She refuses to condemn her Government on the atrocities against Muslims and even refuses to demand that the Rohingyas be treated as equal citizens by granting them citizenship. But then for her, as for Cameron, Muslims don’t deserve to be treated humanely.
Yours,
