Awards winners

22nd May 2015

Sir, Love your positive stories on Muslim contributions to the society. The 16 award winners you have highlighted uniquely covers from children, youth, old, male and female, from different backgrounds and professions.

I didn’t realise we have so many Muslims who are contributing so much to the British society. If you watch the media or listen to the politicians you would think that Muslims are involved only in extremism and terrorism.

What I like about your awards is that they are named after contemporary and historical figures and institutions. What an original way of naming respective awards. It is so positive – success stories in the past and present. By reading the awards categories it seems they represent from different ethnic backgrounds and from different period of times.

I am now going to watch the video of the event on your website. I am sure it will be inspiring.

Yours,
Aisha Bibi
