Pakistan: Stampede during ration distribution kills two in Karachi

KARACHI, (The News): Two women lost their lives and two others got injured when a stampede occurred during ration distribution at NIPA intersection in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi Monday morning, Geo News reported.

 

According to reports, ration distribution among the needy families was taking place in a marriage hall at NIPA intersection today morning where a large number of women had gathered and were waiting for their turn.

 

While the management was giving out food items, women hastily tried to collect the items that led to a stampede, killing two women while two others were also injured.

 

The injured and bodies were shifted to hospital for treatment. Police told that the tragic incident occurred due to mishandling.
