Pakistan: One killed, 8 injured in Lahore vendetta shootout

LAHORE, (The News): An armed clash between two rival groups claimed one man’s life while it landed as many as eight others in the hospital here on Tuesday night, Geo News reported.


The deadly shootout was reported from the populous Gawalmandi area, which is located at the heart of Punjab’s provincial capital.


According to police two feuding Gujjar clans are responsible for the violence which resulted in the death of a young man and hospitalization of at least eight people, mostly pedestrians


“The shots fired by Farid Gujjar’s gunmen killed Rashid, son of Faryad Gujjar, head of the rival gang”, they added.


A woman and a child were also injured after the sworn enemies took to guns and exchanged indiscriminate fire on a busy street periling dozens of other lives.


The casualties were shifted to Mayo Hospital, the rescue sources told Geo News.
