India: Death toll from building collapse near Mumbai rises to 7

MUMBAI, (Xinhua): Death toll from the building collapse near Mumbai has risen to seven while 14 injured people were rescued from the debris, said police on Friday.

The three-storey building in Thane city which was built 35 years ago collapsed after midnight when the residents were fast asleep, police said.

Among the seven victims, one is an two-month-old infant girl. A total of 14 people have been dragged out of the debris and sent to nearby hospital. Many are still feared trapped in the debris of the building, police said.
