IMEMC & Agencies: Monday evening Israeli police officers attacked five Palestinian young men as they were driving in Jabal Al-Mokabbir Palestinian neighborhood, in occupied East Jerusalem, eyewitnesses said.

The witnesses stated that a number of police officers stopped a car that belongs to resident Soheib Bassem Abu Jamal, 24, and violently attacked him and his four friends, the Maan News Agency has reported.

The Police alleged that the driver made a traffic violation, and arrested him before talking him to a police station in the neighborhood. His four friends were let go after being questioned by the police.

His family said that their son suffered various cuts and bruises as he was attacked again while in detention, and that the police tried to force him sign a document stating that he was not beaten or tortured during interrogation, but he refused to do so.
