IMEMC & Agencies: Friday morning, Palestinian medical sources reported that a young Palestinian man was shot and injured by Israeli army fire, east of Jabalia town, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

The sources said that the young man, in his twenties, was moved to the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, suffering a moderate injury after being shot in the back by soldiers stationed on a military tower across the border fence.

He was shot near the Shuhada Graveyard, east of Jabalia, eyewitnesses said.

In related news, Israeli navy boats fired rounds of live ammunition at Palestinian fishing boats in Palestinian territorial water, less than three nautical miles away from the shore. Damage, but no injuries, were reported.

The navy chased the fishermen to the shore, local sources said.

The Israeli Navy repeatedly attacks Palestinian fishermen and fishing boats leading to dozens of casualties and excessive property damage, in addition to dozens of arrests.

Ten days ago, Israeli navy boats attacked Palestinian fishing boats in Palestinian waters, in northern Gaza, kidnapping two fishermen before towing their boats.

When Israel imposed the illegal siege on Gaza, in 2006, the fishermen were limited to only three nautical miles off the Gaza shore.

Yet, the fishermen and their boats are constantly attacked, even within those three miles, leading to dozens of casualties and excessive property damage. The soldiers have also kidnapped dozens of fishermen.

As part of the ceasefire agreement of November, 2012, Israel agreed to allow the Palestinians to fish within six nautical miles, but unilaterally decreased the allotted area to three miles.

Last May, Israel decided to allow the fishermen to fish within six nautical miles, but the Navy continued to attack them even within the three nautical miles.

Under the Oslo accords of the mid-nineties, the Palestinians are supposed to be allowed to fish in 20 nautical miles off the Gaza shore, but Tel Aviv has constantly violated the agreement.
