SALFIT, Palestine (AA): Jewish settlers early Tuesday raided a Palestinian village in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and vandalized a mosque. They also vandalized Palestinian cars and slit their tires.
Eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency that a group of settlers raided Yasuf village in Salfit province and spray-painted slogans in Hebrew on the walls of a local mosque and a number of homes.
The words spray painted on the wall of the mosque, in Hebrew, read, “I will not sleep while blood is shed here,” and “Jews wake up” (see photo).
They also vandalized four cars and slit their tires.
A similar hateful and racist ‘price tag’ attack was reported in the majority Arab city of Nazareth, Monday. That attack included graffiti reading, “Death to Arabs” among other slogans.
Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, Monday, urged the international community to hold Israel, as the occupying power, to take responsibility to protect Palestinian civilians.
Last Friday, Jewish settlers targeted local mosque in West Bank Beit Iksa village, and spray-painted anti-Arab slogans on its walls. They also attempted to set it on fire.
Jewish settlers also vandalized Palestinian-owned vehicles and spray painted racist, anti-Arab slogans, on in the village, in the central occupied West Bank district of Jerusalem.
Extremist Jewish settlers stage frequent attacks on Palestinians and their property in the occupied West Bank.
According to Israeli estimates, some 430,000 Israeli Jews currently live on settlements throughout the West Bank. Another 220,000 live in settlements in East Jerusalem, a large number of which were built without Israeli government approval.
