Israeli air and ground attacks on Gaza killed at least 50 people Monday, including an eight-year-old girl during a seven-hour truce, bringing the death toll in the 28-day terror campaign to 1,866, the vast majority of them civilians.

Health ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qudra said 32 bodies were pulled from rubble across Gaza Monday from overnight attacks, with another 18 killed in strikes after the end of Israel’s seven-hour truce.

But the truce, which was supposed to last from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (0700 to 1400 GMT), was immediately broken after occupation forces bombed a house in Gaza City, killing a child and wounding 30 others.

The strike hit a house in the beachfront Shati refugee camp, killing an eight-year-old girl, Qudra told AFP.

Witnesses and several AFP correspondents reported hearing the whistle of a missile fired from an F16 warplane before it crashed into a house wedged between two tall buildings inside the camp.

An AFP correspondent said the strike hit at 10:06 am (0706 GMT) — ie six minutes into the truce.

With only a narrow alley leading to the house, it was not possible to get rescue equipment to the scene, with a long line of people passing out chunks of rubble by hand, an AFP correspondent said.

The strike cause the house to pancake, leaving only a very narrow gap for rescuers to get inside, some of whom were bloodying themselves in the effort, he said.

From within, they managed to pull the body of a young girl wearing pajamas whose spine appeared to be broken in several places, with rescuers struggling to get her onto a stretcher, he said.

Israel announced a temporary ceasefire following an unusually strong censure from Washington at the Israeli shelling Sunday of a UN-run school that killed 10 people.

“The calm Israel declared is unilateral and aims to divert attention away from the Israeli massacres. We do not trust such a calm and we urge our people to exercise caution,” said Hamas’s spokesman, Sami Abu Zuhri.

Ahead of the truce, Israel early Monday launched further strikes on Gaza, killing at least 16 people, including an Islamic Jihad commander.

Health officials in Gaza say 1,865 Palestinians, the vast majority of them civilians, have been killed and more than a quarter of the impoverished enclave’s 1.8 million residents displaced. As many as 3,000 Palestinian homes have been destroyed or damaged.

Gaza health ministry said among those killed 429 were children, 243 were women, and 79 were elderly. Another 9,563 Palestinians have been injured including 2,877 children, 1,853 women, and 374 elderly.

Many of those evacuees have taken shelter in UN-run facilities, including a Rafah school where 10 people were killed in Israeli shelling on Sunday.

International outcry crested against the Israelis. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon described the attack as a “moral outrage and a criminal act” and called for those responsible for the “gross violation of international humanitarian law” to be held accountable.

The United States, which backs Israel’s terror campaign in Gaza, said it was “appalled” by the “disgraceful shelling” in an apparent attempt to deflect responsibility for its role in 28-day assault.

Israel has lost 64 soldiers in combat and three civilians to Palestinian cross-border shelling that has emptied many of its southern villages.

The United States may support Israel but as an American – I DON’T! There’s a whole lot more American’s that DO NOT support the Israeli government. The propaganda, lies, disinfo, and garbage we are fed as news is bad enough but it’s also infected with pro-Israeli Trolls.

They are using the “Israel Has a Right to Defend Itself” to genocide the Palestinians for total control of Gaza.. According to reports, Hamas has launched 7000 missiles into Israel. While this may be true Israel death toll is reported at 66/1 Military/civilian farmer. The Palestinian death toll exceeds 1,800 and over 3,000 injured; mostly men, women, and children.

Everyone has the right to defend themselves – within reason. There comes a point when it’s no longer defense, it’s genocide.
