DARAA, (AA) – At least 30 people were killed Wednesday when a car bomb targeted a meeting of moderate rebel commanders in southern Syria, an opposition commander said.
The attack in Quneitra province saw scores from various opposition groups wounded, Salman al-Atwa, a commander with the Syria Revolutionaries Front, said.
Al-Atwa, who was slightly injured in the attack, said the building where the meeting was being held collapsed due to the force of the blast.
No group claimed immediate responsibility for the attack.
The Syria Revolutionaries Front is a 4,000-strong unit that is part of the Free Syrian Army and one of the most prominent groups in southern Syria.
Last month, the front’s leader Abo Osama al-Jolani was the subject of an assassination attempt.
The bombing came on the fifth day of a cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria.
