Afghanistan: Blast in Afghan spy agency warehouse, causes no casualties

12th Dec 2013

KABUL, (Xinhua): A blast in a warehouse of Afghanistan’s National Directorate for Security (NDA) or the country’s national spy agency on Thursday caused panic among the war-weary people but hurt no one, a spokesman for the spy agency said.

“It was a blast inside a depot of National Directorate for Security but caused no loss of life,” Farid Shamal told newsmen.

He also ruled out the involvement of Taliban militants in the incident, saying “it could be an electric shock” which has hurt no one.

This is the second blast in Kabul over the past two days.

In a previous blast which occurred on Wednesday, no one was hurt, according to officials. Taliban militants on Wednesday claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement sent to media outlets, saying 10 soldiers were killed and injured in the attack.
