French embassy in Libya hit by car bomb

Graffiti against France is sprayed on a wall outside the French embassy in Tripoli on August 30, 2011

The Local: Two guards at the French embassy in the Libyan capital of Tripoli have reportedly been wounded after a car bomb exploded outside the building on Tuesday.

The French embassy in Tripoli, has been targeted in a car bomb attack on Tuesday that left two security guards wounded, on of them seriously.

It is not clear who was responsible for the attack but France has been subject to threats from various terrorist groups since it launched a military operation earlier this year to oust Islamist rebels in Mali.
